Five good minutes in your body: media break


I know that everyone seems to struggle with taking a break from social media, I myself have been the worst at it I’m not going to lie it’s a struggle. 

   You wake up and what do you immediately reach for; Your phone. When you go to dinner when no ones talking for even a brief second what happens once again, we all pick up our phones. It has become an addiction. 

  We base everything off our social media from our fashion, to hair, makeup relationships and so on. It’s easy to be impressed by the flashy photos of the models but have you noticed how you actually feel about yourself afterward or how they are starting to define the unrealistic image of beauty. Well stop those ways of thinking it’s time for a change! A positive change; here are some mindful creative ways that can free you from the influences of these unhealthy images. 

  Toss away or stay away from glossy fashion magazines and pick a good book. 

Shut off your T.V or at least the commercials and pick out a movie that touches your heart, lifts your spirits or reconnects you with humanity. 

Go for a walk, get outside and enjoy nature.

Call a friend, make a date, cook a meal together, exchange stories. 

Most of all Give yourself a break. Soak in the tub and take a solace in silence. Work on the breathing and mindful techniques we talked about in the post before.
