3 Easy Christmas Crafts

Updated: Dec 1, 2020

Salt Dough Ornaments What you'll need: Salt 1 Cup Water 1 Cup Flour 2 Cups Acrylic Paint Paintbushes Cookie Cutters ( the shapes you desire) Ribbon

Directions: In a medium to large mixing bowl, combine the salt and flour then start adding the water a little at a time. You might not need the full cup or you may need a bit more. You want the dough to be well combined but not sticky or wet. Knead the dough away until it is smooth like a ball. Once well combined divide the dough into half or fourths and roll it out with a rolling pin. Use the cookie cutters to cut out each ornament youd like until you have no more dough to be used. When the ornaments are all cut out make sure you put a hole at the stop to have the ribbon strung through to hang up. Once the shapes are set bake them at 200 degress for about 2-3 hours. Let them cool for about 4 hours before painting and your ready to go!

Reindeer Footprint Things you’ll need: Cardstock Brown and Red and Cream Acrylic Craft Paint Paintbrush Brown marker

Things to do: 1. Carefully paint the bottom of your child's foot, including the toes, with brown paint. 2. Press the foot gently onto the center of the cardstock, pushing slightly on the toes to make sure you get a good imprint. Allow the paint to dry. 3. Using the red and white paint and child's fingers or thumb, add a nose and eyes to the deer. Draw antlers coming off between the middle toes, leaving the big toe and pinkie impressions as ears. 4. Once dry, trim the cardstock to size and use as desired.

No-Sew Sock Snowman Craft What you need 1 white sock 1 sock in color for the hat rice rubber bands (or thread) colourful buttons ribbons glue gun markers or paint orange pom poms Start by filling your white sock with rice. You will need a hefty amount. Once you are happy with the amount (and size) of your sock snowman tie the top with the ribber band. Take another rubber band and place in the middle – more to the upper side – of the rice filled sock to form the head shape. Now glue the buttons to the bottom side by using a glue gun (glue dots do a fairly good job too). Draw the mouth and eyes with a black marker or with black paint Add a ribbon for the scarf – glue dots and glue gun work best for ribbons, while other glues kind of fail miserably. You can cut off excess white sock (or you can tuck it in the hat we will be making next). Cut the colored sock (cut the foot part, without heel). Roll it a bit and place it on the head of your snowman. You can leave it as it is or you can secure it with some glue. Your snowman is now ready!
