A Christmas Carol Nov 15-18 Evangel University Theatre presents “A Christmas Carol” featuring Evangel, New Covenant Academy and Marshfield students. Join us for an evening of laughter, singing and dancing as we usher in the Christmas season! 7:30pm - 9:30pm $15 for 13 and up; $12 for ages 4-12; under 3 free on an adults lap 1111 N. FEZtival of Trees Nov 17-19 Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Drawing for trees is Sunday at 3 p.m. Need not be present to win. Trees are available for pickup after 3 p.m. Sunday.Refreshments will be available at "Santa's Sweet Shoppe." Kids can get creative in Santa's Workshop, and make Christmas crafts for purchase. Downtown Tree Lighting Schedule of events: 6 p.m.: Free pre-show activities: • Free hot chocolate • Performances from Luke Cooksey and Springfield Little Theatre’s “The Santa Sessions.” • Appearances from Santa, Mrs. Claus and other holiday guests • Bring the kids to send their letters to Santa via Santa’s mailbox! 6:20 p.m.: Live performance from Dino Kartsonakis 7 p.m.: Lighting of the Park Central Square Christmas tree. Tree lighting followed by: • Live performances by 3.Little.Birds and Studio VIE • Jingle Bell March around Park Central Square • Photo ops with holiday characters • ’Twas the Night Before Christmas” story times at Park Central Branch Library—free books for all children in attendance! • Free carriage rides courtesy of the Downtown Springfield Community Improvement District until 10 p.m. Plus, enjoy free ice skating at Mediacom Ice Park from 6:15-8:15 p.m. (skate rental is $3). Then, take in the stunning light display at Jordan Valley Park. The Downtown Tree Lighting kicks of Festival of Lights, a flurry of holiday activities throughout November and December that includes horse-drawn carriage rides, free ice skating, holiday productions, shows and concerts and the Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade.
